  • Comment: N.A.Desvaux, Nouv. Bull. Sci. Soc. Philom. Paris ser. 2, 2: 190 (1810) and J. Bot. Appl. 1: 73 (1813), indicated that Triticum repens L. should be placed in the genus Elytrigia. While the name is given by some authors as "Elytrigia repens (L.) Desv." with one of these references cited as the protologue, Desvaux did not definitely associate the genus name and specific epithet as required under ICN Art. 35.2 (Melbourne Code, 2012) and thus did not make the combination in either work.
