Eucalyptus confertiflora Kippist , legitimate, scientific
Kippist, R. in Mueller, F.J.H. von (1 November 1858), in Monograph of the Eucalypti of tropical Australia, with an arrangement for the use of colonists according to the structure of the bark. Journal of the Proceedings of the Linnean Society, Botany 3(10): 96-97 BHL [tax. nov.]
  • Type: "A flumine Victoria ad rivum Gilbert inpascuis siccis proveniens Anth. Oct., Nov."
  • Text: "Sent by Dr. Mueller under the name of E. floribunda, which is preoccupied; the E.floribunda of Hiigel being evidently quite distinct— (R.K.)"
  • Comment: Kippist indicates in a footnote that it had been necessary to change the manuscript species name supplied by Mueller as it was preoccupied. The name is thus here attributed to Kippist even though Mueller had supplied the description, following ICN Art. 46.3 (particularly Ex. 24) (Shenzhen Code, 2018).
