Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Type:"Our figure was taken from a plant which flowered at the Hammersmith nursery in 1797; where it had been raised from seeds, communicated by Colonel Paterson, then commanding at Port Jackson."
Comment:Stafleu & Cowan, Tax. Lit. ed. 2, 1 (1976) 51 give the author as "probably ... John Kennedy", but as there is no such indication in the work itself, Andrews has been accepted here as the author.
