APC Comment: An Asian species, now referred to Symplocos cochinchinensis var. laurina (Retz.) Noot., recorded by G.Bentham, Fl. Austral. 4: 292 (1868) and H.P.Nooteboom, Leiden Bot. Ser. 1: 141 (1975) (as a synonym of S. cochinchinensis (Lour.) S.Moore), but not known to occur in Australia.
