Etymology: "Named after William Bertram Turrill (1890-1961), eminent British botanist and former Keeper of the Herbarium and Library of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He worked at Kew from 1901 to 1957 and was friend and adviser to many visiting botanists."
