Comment:Du Puy et al. record a misapplication of "Panicum sanguinale... as sanguniale var. commutatum" by H.N.Ridley, J. Straits Branch Roy. Asiat. Soc. 45: 241 (1906), to this taxon. However, the name recorded by Ridley is in his listing under Paspalum rather than Panicum.
