APC Comment:
Panicum subg. Digitaria (Heist. ex Fabr.) A.Gray is a rejected name because Gray referred indirectly to the basionym Digitaria Heist. ex Fabr. (1759) but also included the type of Digitaria Haller (1768), nom. cons. (ICBN Art. 14.7 (2006)). Panicum subg. Digitaria (Haller) Hack. was validly published, although reference to the basionym is lacking (ICBN Art. 33.3 (2006)).
