APC Comment: A New Zealand taxon, now referred to Senecio glaucophyllus subsp. basinudus Ornduff, recorded for Australia by A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 2632 (1991), on the basis of J.D.Hooker's Fl. Nov.-Zel. 1(2) 145 (1852) treatment of the species. However, Hooker does not record the varietal taxon from Australia, only the species in the broad sense.
