Vascular Plants
Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Type:"south-west coast of New Holland [Stirling Range to south coast of Western Australia], 1828–1829, W. Baxter s.n. (?holo: BM 000991908)."
Text:"Foreman (1995: 207) [i.e. D.B. Foreman, Fl. Aust. 16: 481 (1995)] mistakenly gave the type locality of I. petrophiloides as ‘near William’ in an apparent misreading of the hand-written label on BM 000991908, which actually reads ‘Mr William Baxter’. Baxter collected a number of species on and close to the Stirling Range (see George 2009: 286) [i.e. A.S. George, Australian Botanist's Companion (2009)], and there seems little doubt that this was one of them."
