Comment: Lewis does not say which part of QLD this taxon occurs although it is known to occur in freshwater throughout Australia (Entwisle et al 1997 "Freshwater Algae in Australia" p.106). This taxon was noted by Womersley 1956:360 as being only freshwater but was collected in mangroves on Lord Howe Island Kraft 2000 Aust Syst Bot 13:559). Silva et al. 1996: do not comment on whether the collections from the Indian Ocean are marine or freshwater. -
