Australia 11A: 238 (2001), list Acacia decurrens var. mollis Lindl. as a misapplication to Acacia mearnsii De Wild. by J.P.M.Brenan & R.Melville, Kew Bull. 14: 39 (1960). However, Brenan & Melville place Acacia decurrens var. mollis in synonymy of Acacia mearnsii rather than misapplying the name.
