Prasophyllum exiguum Rupp, nom. inval., scientific primary reference apni
Rupp, H.M.R. (1948), The section Genoplesium in the genus Prasophyllum (Orchidaceae). The Victorian Naturalist 65(6): 142, 150 [primary reference] BHL
misapplication: Prasophyllum rufum R.Br. legitimate by Fitzgerald, R.D. (March 1888), Australian Orchids 2(4): [6th plate]
  • Comment: Rupp provides descriptive text in his key to species on p. 150 and states on p. 142 that his new taxon "Prasophyllum exiguum" is the same entity to which R.D.Fitzgerald, Austral. Orchids 2(4): [6th plate] (1888), misapplied the name Prasophyllum rufum R.Br. Rupp's name is not validly published under ICN Art. 39.1 (Melbourne Code, 2012), because the descriptive text provided by Rupp is given only in English, as is the referenced description of P. rufum by Fitzgerald.
