Tecticornia cinerea (F.Muell.) Baill., legitimate, scientific comb. nov. apni
Baillon, H.E. (1887), Caryophyllacées-Frankéniacées. Histoire des Plantes 9: 185, adnot. [comb. nov.]
basionym: Halocnemum cinereum F.Muell. legitimate nomenclatural synonym: Salicornia cinerea (F.Muell.) F.Muell. legitimate
  • Comment: Reference to basionym indirect, via Baillon's inclusion of Salicornia cinerea (F.Muell.) F.Muell. in synonymy of this name (ICN Art. 41.3 (Shenzhen Code, 2018)).
  • Comment: This name is sometimes attributed to J.D.Hooker in G.Bentham & J.D.Hooker, Gen. Pl. 3(1): 65 (1880). While Hooker indicates that Salicornia cinerea (F.Muell.) F.Muell. is the sole member of his new genus Tecticornia, he does not definitely associate the genus name and specific epithet as required under Art. 35.2 (Shenzhen Code, 2018).
