Claytonia pygmaea F.Muell., nom. illeg., nom. superfl., scientific nom. nov. apni
Mueller, F.J.H. von (1879), The Native Plants of Victoria 1: 133 [nom. nov.]
replaced synonym: Calandrinia pygmaea F.Muell. nom. illeg., nom. superfl.
  • Comment: Mueller cites the place of publication of this name as "F. v. Mueller, fragmenta phytographiae Australiae iii. 89 (1862)", constituting an indirect reference to the replaced synonym. While F.J.H. von Mueller, Fragm. 3: 89 (1862), indicates the combination via a note that Calandrinia pygmaeum should be placed in Claytonia he does not definitely associate the genus name with the specific epithet as required by ICN Art. 35.2 (Shenzhen Code, 2018).
  • Comment: nom. illeg., nom. superfl. as Calandrinia pygmaea F.Muell. is itself an illegitimate replacement name for Talinum nanum Nees. The epithet nana was available in Claytonia in 1879 and thus ought to have been adopted by Mueller (ICN Art. 11.4 (Shenzhen Code, 2018)).
