"BRITISH NEW GUINEA: sporadic on poorly drained soils, savannah forests, Tarara, Wassi Kussa River, Western District, stems green, erect from an ovoid tuber, flowers green densely mottled and shaded with red, beard of the labellum a deep metallic blue at base, distal two thirds maroon-red, January 1937, Brass 8600 (TYPE in Herb. Ames No. 61165)."
