Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
×
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

APC Comment:
The authorship of this name is often attributed to J.Steetz, Pl. Preiss. 2(2-3): 309 (1848) but this is later than the publication by Drummond. Drummond’s text is mostly concerned with the use of the plant as a broom but still contains enough descriptive detail of leaves, stems and flowers to distinguish the species and satisfy ICN Art. 38.1 (Melbourne Code, 2012).
