  • APC Comment: Acacia brownii is sometimes treated as a variety of A. ulicifolia, and the two sometimes form hybrids (Maslin in Flora of Australia 11A: 467 (2001)). Three unnamed variants were discussed by Maslin (2001). Intergradation between A. asparagoides, A. brownii, A.echinula and A. ulicifolia is reported from central eastern NSW, and hybrids may occur (Tame in Acacias of Southeast Australia 1992; Maslin, 2001). Possible hybrids between A. gunnii and A. ulicifolia have been reported from Vic (Entwisle et al. in Flora of Victoria Vol. 3, 1996; Maslin, 2001).
