Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. APC Comment:A hybrid taxon, involving Salix alba var. vitellina, S. babylonica and S. euxina (I.V.Belyaeva-Chamberlain, pers. comm. 2012). Treated by some authors (e.g. G.W.Carr in N.G.Walsh & T.J.Entwisle (eds) Fl. Victoria 2: 394 (1996) and S.W.L.Jacobs & L.Murray in G.J.Harden (ed.), Fl. New S. Wales 1: 614 (2000) as naturalised in Tasmania, but M.L.Baker, Muelleria 27: 138-139 (2009) considers Tasmanian plants to be of cultivated origin.
