The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Comment:The name "Caladenia hirta subsp. hirta" is listed by N.Hoffman & A.Brown, Orchids of South-West Aust. Ed. 2: 140 (1992). However, this autonym did not exist until established by S.D.Hopper & A.P.Brown, Nuytsia 14(1/2): 88 (2001), in accordance with ICN Art. 26.3 (Shenzhen Code, 2018).
APC Comment:The name "Caladenia hirta subsp. hirta" is listed by N.Hoffman & A.Brown, Orchids South-West Australia 2nd edn, 140 (1992); N.Hoffman & A.Brown, Orchids South-West Australia 2nd edn (rev.), 140 (1998) and by G.Paczkowska & A.R.Chapman, W. Austral. Fl. Desc. Cat. 78 (2000). However, this autonym was not established until the publication of infraspecific taxa by S.D.Hopper & A.P.Brown, Nuytsia 14(1/2): 88 (2001), in accordance with ICN Art. 26.3 (Melbourne Code, 2012).
