Type: "This species is common in grassy hillocks at the Presidio, San Francisco, from which there are specimens in the herbarium of the California Academy of Sciences, collected by Dr. E.L. Greene, Mrs. Brandegee, and Miss Evelyn Cannon; also one from Bodega Port collected by the writer."
